Customs clearance for imports and exports at Piraeus and the airport

Kanga Services has excellent customs clearance personnel at Piraeus Port and at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport. We undertake every import and export customs procedure at both of those offices, and at any other customs office in the country your shipment requires.

Having a broker at both of the points through which most Greek cargo leaves and arrives matters in practice: the office that arranges your transport also lodges the declaration. Nobody has to be found and briefed when customs asks for one more document or for a sample to inspect.

Exports

Our experienced customs staff specialise in commercial exports and handle the clearance for:

• Export of olive oil, vinegar and all other foodstuffs.

• Export of local products and of samples sent to customers and trade fairs abroad.

• Export of personal effects and household goods, for moves outside the European Union.

• Export of artwork, together with the certificate of export issued by the National Gallery of Greece.

• Export of cars and motorcycles, with the documents the destination country requires.

Imports

We also clear inbound cargo: merchandise and samples for businesses, and household goods and personal effects for people returning to Greece. Once the goods are cleared we handle storage, onward transport and delivery to the final consignee anywhere in Greece.

Documents for commercial cargo

• Invoice in English.

• Packing list in English.

• Electronic authorisation to our customs broker.

• Chemical analysis, where the product requires one.

• Samples for inspection if requested by Customs.

Documents for personal effects and household goods

• A photocopy of your passport or identity card.

• Your tax file number.

• A written authorisation for our customs broker.

• The Legal Document 105 solemn declaration, the form for which we provide.

• A packing list with every item numbered, which we complete as we pack and which travels with your cargo.

The packing list is one of the most important accompanying documents, because it provides the basis for the customs inspection and for the release of your cargo at destination. We will tell you at the outset exactly which documents your particular shipment and destination country need, so that nothing is held at the customs office.
